The Lemont Public Library is located at 50 East Wend Street in a new 17,000 square foot building. The library has a separate children’s department and a special section for young adults. The library has story times for youngsters all year. There is a special summer program with many additional activities for children of various ages. News of the events are distributed in the local schools.
The library houses approximately 60,000 books on a variety of subjects. The library always buys bestsellers and writers popular with Lemont library users. Suggestions for new titles are always welcomed. There are over 3,000 videos (at only $1.00 a week). Non-fiction and how-to videos are inter-filed with books on the same subjects. In addition, we have over 2,800 compact discs, local and national newspapers, and over 150 magazines. The library also has a growing collection of audio books. Our Internet connection is available for public use. Also, we offer many CD-ROM products including ProQuest, a magazine article searching program.
